"Raworth"

Raworth is a nice suburb in many ways, but it has its pros and cons. On the plus side, it’s really convenient—Green Hills Shopping Centre is just a short drive away, there are plenty of medical centres nearby, and the new Maitland Hospital is close too. The neighbourhood itself is nice for families, with a good playground and an off-leash dog park for pet owners.
Mornings and evenings are beautiful for a walk when it’s quiet, but during the afternoon, there’s often illegal trail bikes riding up and down the footpaths in some areas, which can be frustrating and unsafe, especially for kids. We also get the occasional hoon speeding through the main roads. Unfortunately, car break-ins and stolen vehicles do happen, and there have been some sketchy people caught on cameras at night. Every now and then, there’s a suspicious bushfire in the area between Tenambit and Raworth, but nothing much seems to be done about it.
Raworth is zoned to Tenambit Public School, which doesn’t have the best reputation.
Also, if you’re looking to buy or rent, I’d definitely recommend avoiding the streets closest to the Tenambit “red zone” area.
Overall, it’s an OK place to live with good convenience and some beautiful, quiet moments—if you can put up with the downsides. Local council and police could do more to address some of the ongoing issues, but for the most part, it’s a decent spot for families.
