Mount Druitt
8th January 2022

"2770"

We lived in Willmot for 12 years while saving for a house so I’m very familiar with the area.

The outer suburbs of 2770 including Willmot have very high volumes of public housing, even after a lot has been sold off 20-40% of each suburb remain public housing.

Speaking from my own experience, I can say there are issues with youth i the area and this comes from generational disadvantage.

I can’t say I or any of my family were ever threatened or harmed. We had nothing stolen.

We did have kids on dirt bikes riding around our house 24/7. We did have kids having giant parties behind our house in the empty field. We had plenty of cars burnt in our street. We had neighbours play music so loud it rattled our windows until 4am on Christmas Day.

The viaduct/flood path was full of trollies and rubbish. The nature reserve behind our house would have been great to walk in, if it was not for all the burnt out cars and piles of rubbish dumped around the the accessible parts.

i live in willmot since 2017 , I heard lots of smear campaign against this suburb. to be honest, i dont see any major issue here. except frequent helicopter hoovering, weekend dirt bike noise. please stop bad mouth willmot . I have more break in enter and vandalism when living in city and bankstown area. garage broken into and goods stolen twice, vehicle vandalised twice, harrassed by neigbours and strangers lost count.

Glenmore Park

"Nice, clean / safe and green"

Very low crime rate. Very well maintained houses and yards. Mostly middle class residence with some higher end areas. Close to the river and mountains. A nice clean town centre with a fairly diverse choice of supermarkets and small cafes. Close to Jamisontown with a homemaker centre and also Penrith Westfields.

The main roads in / out is windy. It was designed to prevent a lot of outside traffic or people using it to bypass main roads. It works both ways as you don’t have a lot of people driving through, which adds to the community feel. If you are in the town centre you probably live there.

Find a house with a pool if you can. Like most of western Sydney - from Chatswood to Penrith and to Liverpool it’s going to get hot in summer. ( I have lived in a lot places and there is only a few degrees difference between Penrith and Kellyville / Castle Hill in the summer)
