Stockton Beach with its surf club patrolled area would have to be one of the safest beaches for kids in the Newcastle area. The council owned Caravan Park (absolute beach frontage) has recently been upgraded to 4-star with 11 new quality cabins and 15 more to come. Boating facilities are at your doorstep with two dual river ramps - one with a pontoon and the other to be shortly upgraded with a pontoon. Grocery shopping is limited to the usual local supermarket but there is also good quality pub food with three hotels, plus a bowling club, an RSL club and even a Golf Club 5 minutes nearby.
