Want to be close to the beach but dont want to pay the premium for being able to see the ocean, Golden Four Drive is the place to be. A little bit more road noise due to the old gold coast highway but otherwise only lacking a view in comparison. (Only applicable really to southern Golden Four, as you get further up it actually becomes the beachfront street.)

"The best stretch of coast between Coolangatta and Surfers Paradise for a quiet weekend" is how i would Bilinga. Just far enough from the hubbub of Coolangatta yet still close enough for a stroll to the cafe precinct in Kirra. With the airport just across the road you can jet in and jet out in a jiffy.

I have lived here 6 months now and dont ever want to leave.

The only quarrel I have is parking congestion during some weekends and school hoildays.
