I grew up in the 70' and 80' on the Northern Beaches (Scotland Island, Mona Vale & Newport) and always had a somewhat negative opinion of Cromer as being a bit of a down market or lower socio- economic suburb. I was quite wrong. I moved to Cromer 10 years ago after my wife found a nice house she liked and took me to see it. When i found it was in Cromer I was subconsciously (or maybe consciously!) a bit negative; however, I checked the house out and on closer inspection the area did seem to tick all the boxes (transport, schools, family friendly & safe).

So, long story short, we bought the hoouse in Cromer and I must say, we have never regretted it! Cromer is a really great and convenient suburb and we love living here. It's 5 minutes to the beach (an easy flat bike ride), 20 - 25 minutes from the city, 5 minutes from Warringah Mall, 15 minutes to Chatswood shops/malls, 10 -12 minutes from Manly and a great gateway to the rest of the Norther Beaches. my kids grew up riding their bikes around and playing in the many parks with their many local friends. The only think Cromer lacks for kids is a skateboard/bike/scooter park (i was forever driving the kids to the manly or Avalon skate parks... The council should put a skate park in near the Cromer industrial area...

The suburb is quiet and safe, my kids went right through the Cromer Public School which was excellent (unfortunately the secondary Cromer Campus leaves quite a bit to be desired so I sent my boys to the private Pittwater House - only 5 minutes away). Freshwater Campus is also close to Cromer and absolutely first class! We have had fantastic appreciation in value of our house and have loved living ion Cromer.
