I’ve lived here for 20 + years in different streets and have a family. Currently living in the Hotham Hill area and love the schools, hospitals, double wide roads with gargantuan trees, proximity to green spaces and excellent food within the suburb and in neighboring flemington and Kensington. I love that it’s cooler in summer because of all the trees and it Takes me 10 minutes to walk to Carlton via leafy parklands and that I go to sleep with the sound of native bird life all around me. If I want to go to the beach, takes me 12 minutes by car. I have a choice of 2, about to be 3 train stations and 3 tram lines. I also love the diversity of the suburb, I see some people have marked it down because sure - there’s housing commission flats but I’ve never been bothered by the folk there, had some interesting conversations on the trams and my kid has a wide understanding and appreciation of different cultures and is a better person for it. The suburbs food options also reflect this panorama of cultural diversity. This suburb is a diamond and it just keeps getting better.
