I have lived in Bondi, Paddington, Ultimo, Newtown, Glebe and now Chippendale. As 30 single m, hands down Chippendale rules them all. Quality of life is 100 given the choice of watering holes, incredible food joints, shopping options. When I first moved here I ate out almost everyday, esp. the many hole in wall places (dumplings, noodles, soups, mostly Asian fare). I walked everywhere, there is no need for a car, which also helped burn all that delicious food. Close to the city yet remarkably clean and quiet. Highly endorse O'Connor St. Central and quiet. Small street however, so parking is limited if you have something like a big 4WD. Also, lose the car, you won't need it.
