Windsor

"An real gem JUST outside Sydney"

Windsor is an historic flood free town established by Governor Macquarie because of its proximity to rich alluvial soil plains to grow food for the colony. It is surrounded by flood prone land and this stops urban encroachment and helps preserve the historic character of this beautiful town. Windsor is set right on the magnificent Hawkesbury River - home of various annual festivals including the Red Bull Cliff Diving, International Sand Modelling competition, Sydney Blues Festival, Bridge to Bridge Water Ski Race and various boat races, not to mention the last of Sydney’s live band scene every week and a host of unique and interesting shops, cafes and restaurants and a genuine Sunday craft market and the Sebel Resort and Villa Thalgo – Sydney’s leading day spa. Only 10 minutes to the Rouse Hill Town Centre - Australia's most modern mega shopping village, Windsor has excellent parks and walks and recreational facilities, great access and no parking problems and other congestion issues often associated with Sydney. We love it!
