I moved here with my wife and after 1 year of living here I can say that we are very pleased with Mitchelton. Points include -

Quiet and family friendly feel in the area, many schools both public and private.
Kind and welcoming neighbours.
Many parks and path/bikeways to explore.
Great for mountain bikers with close access to Lomandra Park and Jinker Tracks.
Blackwood St dinning and amenities
Train station link to city CBD
10kms drive to city or 18 to Samford and surrounding National Parks, great especially for motorcyclists and trekkers
You can still pick up homes relatively cheap if you are prepared to renovate or save hundreds of thousands on comparable properties in nearby Ashgrove or Newmarket

Samford Rd can get busy but there are many options to bypass busy spots if really needed

I lived on the East side of Spring Farm- Montazah St a few years ago. I didn't have any problems with the neighbours or the area. There is plenty of green space around and parks. William Howe reserve is close by if you like walking or riding up a mountain and checking out the views. I recommend the streets off Dewpoint Drive because the area is more concealed and further away from the Camden Bypass
