Darra

"Centenary Village Darra - A community!"

I brought my first home in Centenary Village and lived in it for 4 years before moving interstate for work. I have kept the property and rented it to a work colleague who loved the home and area.

Great area with lots of community spirit. Street parties in Darra and also in the village at Christmas time. Quiet and safe with lots of facilities nearby such as shopping, parks, restaurants and access to major highways in all directions.

This area is has been growing over the years and with the upgraded train station is attractive to owners and tenants alike. I have seen many of the properties being renovated (mine included) and even a few new homes built - lots of opportunities here!

Potential buyers be aware that the public transport access in Centenary Village is not as good as in the main Darra area. Older residents of Darra find it rather weird calling Centenary Village "Darra" as it was always regarded by us as part of Wacol, having been originally the Wacol Army residential area. Not a bad place though, but the main Darra area is better as far as facilities go.

Gordon, You sound as you might have lived in the area for a long time and I am currently looking for an address in Darra and as I live in Perth, it is difficult to visualise if I am even in the right area! I was born in Alexander Avenue, Darra and do you know personally how I can go about finding if this still exists or perhaps the street name has been changed or redeveloped. Appreciate if you can advise, but understand if unable.
