I have lived in Goodna going on 5 years now and my partner and I have worked in both the local Goodna Shopping centre (St Ives) and at Redbank Plaza. On the end of the street we live in, it's not too bad, but there are always issues with crime around the area and without a guard dog, there are a few times where we would've been broken in to or vandalised, when our neighbours have.

It's a great area for people wanting a good sized house on a budget, and aren't too concerned about nightlife or accessibility to leisure activities. Most things require travel, which if you are close to the train station is ok, yet the Ipswich buses can be unpredictable at times (although they are lifting their game of late).

The shopping centres are suffering since the floods and the morale of the people in the area is suffering as a result, most things you need are accessible though as there are a few supermarkets around the area.
