Marsden

"The most convenient place to live in South East Queensland."

Pros:
Convenient location. For instance it's a 40 min drive to Brisbane CBD, an hour to popular Gold Coast beaches, 40 mins to the beautiful rainforest's of Mount Tambourine, and a short drive inland to Aussie bushland boasting an array of creeks and camping grounds. The suburb its self is in extremely close proximity to large local shopping centres (grand plaza, Hyperdrome) as well only a 25-30 min drive to Westfield shopping centre's Garden City and Carindale.
It is a 10 min drive to the massive Logan Hospital.
Plenty of schools in and around the area, the most notable being Marsden State High School which has been named 2020 Australian Best School of the Year.
Heaps of great parks.
Extremely multicultural.
Lots of kids sporting teams in surrounding areas.
Easy access to motorways.
Decent public transport system.
There are plenty of Businesses in the area (lots of jobs for young people in non-professional roles - like hospitality and retail).
Affordable Housing, including brand new houses.

Cons:
Poor reputation.
Hoons. However, in recent years it has decreased due to council installing lots of traffic control measures in local streets.
Noise. However, this issue seems to be most prevalent in the new estates, where houses are so close together that their roofs are almost touching. In these sort of situations noise is almost inevitable.
Trouble definitely exists in this area but if you don't go looking for it you will probably be fine.

When looking for a house in Marsden I would suggest choosing an older home on a quiet street where most residents own their home. These houses are on bigger blocks and are usually owned by working families and retirees therefore minimising noise.

Who lives here?

  • Families with kids
