Toowong

"Too much development and noise"

Toowong is a wholly unpleasant area in which to live, particularly of late. There is an enormous amount of development going on, mainly in the form of multistory apartment blocks. There is noise from trains, the pubs and, main roads that surround the area (Milton rd and Coronation drive). Don't waste your time trying to drive into the Toowong shopping area--it's just not worth it--roads blocked for 'works' or building construction, traffic lights seemingly positioned every 100 meters (or closer).

The entire Toowong environment feels invasive and stressful and is very unattractive visually.

Am so happy to be out of the place after witnessing massive change (all for the worse) over the last 10 years---will never return!

Isn't Toowong a really highly sort out area though?

Yeah this person obviously couldnt afford a very nice place and it shows. The apartment heavy area directly around Toowong village is what it is, high density housing. Once you get into the actual suburb you are in a lovey, private enclave filled with beautiful heritage homes. Price houses are restrictive starting around 1.2 million for the average family home on the lower end of the market which results in a very safe area with lovely neighbours and privacy, all while being a ten minute drive from the city.
