After living here for many years, mostly good things to say - it’s been a lovely suburb to raise a family. In terms of negatives, I was surprised to read complaints about aircraft noise. I’ve never been concerned by this, there is the odd plane but they’re so high you’d only notice it if out in your backyard. The North side does tend to have less tidy homes, but that is mostly confined to Marco Ave or directly on the railway line - beyond that the smaller, quieter streets look just as nice as those on the South side. The annoying quirk in Panania is the number of streets without footpaths. Also, there's no nightlife - it's not that sort of spot. If you're a young single looking for a fun night out, Panania is not for you - stick to the inner west or Cronulla.
