"Family friendly with a vibrant restaurant scene"
There arent many places in Brisbane that are close to the river, offer good schools as a drawing card and also have restaurants that open past 9pm.
After moving up from Sydney we were looking for a river suburb that would let us enjoy raising our family (lots of parks in the area) and Bulimba has proven to be a great suburb.
Who lives here?
- Professionals
- Families with kids
I love Bulimba because of that diversity aspect. Yes everyone drives a BMW or similar and lives in a modern style house is its new charm. Sad about the new airport runway which has destroyed the value in Bulimba overnight. After 15 years in Bulimba its time to move for certain perhaps Winsor or similar away from the flight path. Having lived in Perth and Sydney most of my life I find Brisbane a perfect place to grow old, in a nice way.
Most of the restaurants are closing due to lack of patronage and high rents. 75 percent of residents are from somewhere else, so if you like a transient community you'll fit right in.
