Smythesdale

"Just wonderful"

I grew up one town over, in the tiny town of Scarsdale. Smythesdale is one of the main "hubs" for the local Shire, with a large recreation facility and great sporting venues, a pharmacy and information centre, as well as a supermarket and several eateries along the main street.

It is a 10 minute drive to Sebastopol along the Ross Creek road, and a 15-20 minute drive to Ballarat Central - so perfect for a short commute to work.

It's a great place to raise a family, with plenty of local school and kindergarten options, sporting teams and Shire-run activities. Community spirit abounds, and you will always find some fantastic locals willing to lend a helping hand. There's also a resident GP at "The Well" near the main street, so no travelling to the doctor!

There are also some great fitness and health programs readily available in both the Smythesdale Well and the Woady Yaloak Recreation Facility. Yoga and GenkiFit fitness are two great options.

It is scenic and quiet and just a wonderful little town. I'd definitely recommend taking a drive and a stroll through the town and seeing what's there!
