Ashgrove

"From a Real Estate Agent's Perspective"

Working in the area for the past 10 years as a real estate agent for Harcourts City and as a local resident growing up in the area, I have been a "raving fan" of Ashgrove for a very long time. My sister and I attended high school in the area (Mt St Michael's College, Ashgrove) and my mother remains a local resident - living just off Ashgrove Avenue. The area offers a wonderful family friendly lifestyle with block sizes larger than surrounding suburbs (back yard for the kids is becoming rare in inner-city Brisbane), recent developments of major super markets for all family-buying needs as well as provides some of Brisbane's finest primary and secondary education. There is also an abundance of public transport and safe walking routes to parks, schools and local businesses. I love the area and work with buyers on a daily basis who are just waiting for the opportunity to buy in one of Brisbane's best hot spots.

Great for

  • Larger block sizes than surrounding areas (backyard for the kids to play)
  • Family friendly with wonderful shopping and retail facilities
  • Wonderful primary and secondary education - kids can walk to school

Not great for

  • No nightlife
  • Minimal cafes and restaurants
  • All buses in late afternoon and full of school kids - no room to sit down for public transport go-ers

Red Hill

"From a Real Estate Agent's Perspective"

Working in the area for the past 10 years as a real estate agent for Harcourts City, I have been a "raving fan" of Red Hill for a very long time. The area itself offers a wonderful cosmopolitan lifestyle for the young yet still holds a reputation for being family friendly. Red Hill is made up of trendy boutique retailers and beautiful residential property which in turn, draws an ongoing demand to live in the area.

Great for

  • Within walking distance to Brisbane CBD
  • Gorgeous boutique retailers
  • The area offers a family friendly yet cosmopolitan lifestyle

Not great for

  • Very hilly!! Not good for the unfit.
  • Typical Red Hill cottages are built very close together - not good if you want some room between neighbouring properties
  • Minimal on street parking for residents and visitors

Who lives here?

  • Families with kids
