I've lived in Heidelberg West on/off for 31 years and currently live in the Olympic Village side of Southern Road.
A lot has changed over the years, particularly in recent years with the development of larger properties bringing in younger couples and families.
There is a real sense of community around, especially for those with a green thumb. The online rough trade fb groups bustling with freebies and things to trade, not sure fresh produce. The locals are very welcoming in our neighborhood, especially on Pacific Drive. The local shops are convenient, Northland is meters from home, and plenty of trails to walk the dog. West is fast becoming Heights, but with fewer large blocks of land so if the opportunity comes about you best be quick!
