Orford

"A Hidden Gem"

Orford is a sleepy little place nestled between inlet/river...and has over recent years become an increasingly popular area for holiday-makers due in part to its proximity to some beautiful coastine - especially Spring Beach (a beautiful white sandy beach about 4-5 km's away) and Stapleton Beach just a short stroll/drive along the coast - a lovely white sandy cove. Both beaches are great for kids/families and overlook the beautiful Maria Island - national park/major tourist destination. Orford is only a short drive to Triabunna where you get the ferry to Maria Island. The Spring beach area also has some million dollar properites nestled into the cliffs and some excellent holiday accommodation.

In addition there is the inlet of course in Orford - great for fishing and boating... and the town has a hotel, and now two eating establishments and a small supermarket... and has undergone and is undergoing some major re-development.... so is a fantastic place to invest! Greg Normal desgined a golf course nearby and it is hoped that that will be finished in the not too distant future, which will bring more tourists and development to the area.

For now though it is a lovely quiet, tranquil place to unwind and forget the troubles of the day. There is also a large state forest resever next to Spring Beach and some interesting coastline and drives (off bitumen) along the coast...

A great place for a weekend stay (only 45- 50 mins from Hobart) to unwind and/or enjoy the local attractions away from the hubbub of the city. Also much less expensive than some areas on the East Coast at the time I write this.

Don't miss out - get down there!
