MacLeay Street

"Quiet street, great place to raise kids."

Macleay St is consistenly advertised as the best street in Ryde and being wary of real estate cliches I had my doubts before i lived here. What a gem this street is.

The first thing I noticed is the high elevation the street has relative to the area, without being exposed. You get great natural light in your house and views to the city from the second floor.

More affordable than East Ryde and less insular, we'll raise our kids here, being close to a choice of at least 6 schools (you can walk to Ryde East Public), a park at the end of the street and bigger (than average for Ryde) blocks of land to kick a ball around. One bus into the city takes 20 mins and they come every 5 minutes in the morning and evening. There is a bus stop at the end of the street if you want to go to Chatswood or Parramatta.

There are three shopping centres to choose from, two within walking distance to Top Ryde City or Cox's Rd. Its a 5-10min drive to Macquarie Shopping Centre or Macquarie Park Train Station.
