if you looking for a place to live, give Nowra a miss. The Shoalhaven council is terrible and can't manage money to the extent of wanting a 44% increase in rates. They manage money now, not sure what they were going to do with that money, probably give it stupid community projects that benefit a half a dozen people. The roads in Nowra are the worst I have seen anywhere. The medical service is terrible. Most medical centres close at 6.00pm and most are not taking new patients which is very frustrating for new comers to the area. There is absolutely nothing to do here unless you like getting drunk. Nowra itself is the capital of "I couldn't give a sh-t about anyone one else but me". Too many egos here. Too many low lifes.
In summary, Nowra is just a horrible place to live. If you have the opportunity or choice, don't pick anyhere in the Shoalhaven LGA... find somewhere nice.
