Calliope

"A Top Little Spot"

Calliope is the only place worth living in Central Queensland in my humble opinion.
It is right on the door step of major industry in Gladstone but you are not confronted by it no pollution comes our way.
Calliope is a community that loves to get in and help. For a place this size we have some wonderfull clubs that allways seem to be very competitive when they go up against our big town rivals. The Roosters Footy, Cricket, Pony Club, Soccer, Polo Crosse, lawn bowls & a wonderfull 18 hole golf course are just some of the clubs in town. Plus a big Rodeo every year.

Air conditioned pub with a TAB, shopping center, doctor, chemist, hair dresser what else could you want in a small town?
You have Rocky & Agnes Waters only a short drive away. Close boat ramps to access the reef.

Who was the goose who said about the river splitting the town obviously never been here. I have no doubts you would get the odd croc passing through but have never seen any out there & have camped & water skied there since I was a kid. We really have the best of both worlds out here just don't tell any one.

Who lives here?

  • Professionals
  • Families with kids
  • Retirees
