Dayboro

"Your own slice of paradise"

We originally started our search for a family home in Samford and boy, are we glad it didn't work out!
Dayboro came recommended to us by a family real estate agent "it has everything you want AND it is a fraction of the price of Samford" she said, and we just rolled our eyes and said it is also another 20 mins out of town! Then a few properties came to the market which were just a little too hard to ignore. We had one look and made an offer the same day. And we are so glad we did!!!!! Dayboro's community spirit is strong. You see the same families over and over again - it's great because making friends is a breeze out here (coming from an introvert). The local community kindy, which is beyond beautiful with mud pits, flying fox, chicken coop and amazing teachers, is a great place to spread your social wings in the community. Bakery and butcher are THE BEST. Cafes and restaurants awesome! The local Iga needs a bit of love, but is good to have when you are missing only a couple ingredients or just need to pick up some milk. Otherwise dayborians get Woolworths/ Coles delivered, head to the Warner shopping complex (aldi!!) And many buy all their produce from the Lawnton country markets (also has bulk butcher, bakery, fish shop a short drive and chemist warehousing - we buy most hints from here, and do a top up buy from aldi every two weeks and SAVE so much money, for way better produce!). There is also a new shopping complex getting built in petrie. The water park, the mill, in petrie is amazing too! Dayboro has a tiny gym but most people go to the amazing genesis gym, which also has access to a large pool and a great creche. Town is still growing and offering more activities for kids/ teenagers every year. My husband used to commute to the valley, one hour trip. It's a pleasant drive to around Enoggera and then it becomes more stop and go as you get closer to the city. Local school is great. High school, not the best but definitely improving so many parents choose to drop their kids off to the bakery and onwards with the school bus to excellent private schools. Community spirit is strong and neighbours get along. The newer estates are all absolutely stunning, all on 6000ms, I don't think I could do city suburbia anymore. Kids playing outside, parents gardening. My tip, skip expensive Samford that unfortunately lost its country appeal and now feels more like a gold club and choose dayboro. Use the spare money on a caravan and have the best of both worlds - country life and epic weekend adventures at the beach with family. It's a good life. We accidentally once left our balcony doors open for a whole of two weeks 😂, like WIDE open while we were on holiday and noone broke in. So safe. Green. Family friendly. Got everything in town you can possibly ask for. So glad we moved here!
