Summer Hill

"The best kept secret in the inner-west"

Love it. I'm early 30's and have bought and lived here for 4 years after renting across the inner west (Concord, Chippendale, Newtown, Alexandria & Lilyfield). We were wanting to buy in Alexandria / Erskineville but found better value here and do not regret it - it's better. The village has everything you could want - plenty of cafes, a pub, great shops and enough restaurants to satisfy. There really is no need to leave. All this and its only 15-20 min on the train to the city. Its also a very family friendly place and shines in summer when a typical Saturday night will see kids dancing to live jazz in the town square while the restaurants spill onto the street. Summer Hill offers a relaxed cafe-culture and is one of the best-kept secrets in the inner west. If you've ever passed-by on the train and wondered what was there, stop in and check it out. Not too busy, not to slow - its just right.
