Ascot Vale

"Hit the Jackpot"

We moved to Ascot Vale 12 months ago and we love it (despite being in lockdown nearly the whole time). Ascot Vale has an abundance of beautiful large period homes on leafy streets perched by the edge of the Maribyrnong and Essendon Gold Club. There are vast parklands and walking trails in any direction and tennis and netball facilities on our doorstep. We love the proximity to the city (cycle to Docklands along the river in under 30mins) and access to the airport and Freeways to Western Vic. Union Rs has some hidden gems- wine bars and tapas restaurants which I had never noticed during the day. More options for evening dining on Mt Alexander Rd. No shortage of excellent cafes, boutique grocer and gelato and local florist, butcher and sourdough bakery top it off. One of our favourite bits are the excellent choice of playgrounds within easy walking distance. The suburb is safe for children - and full of children - and there is a great sense of community here with friendly neighbours (but not Nosey!). I can’t see us ever leaving the suburb now - we have found our place!
