Rocklea

"Beautiful little suburb filled with friendly people"

Seems to of stemmed from being more of a commercial area with warehouses to a prosperous little neighborhood filled with beauty and history.
My husband and I recently had the pleasure of buying a renovated Queenslander that was raised above the highest recorded flood levels for this area, the same as almost all the other similarly pretty houses down our street.
We really adore the houses here for their obvious charm and personality, we happen to luckily live very close to the train station, a great way to get in and out of the city on nights where we don't feel like driving.
The Rocklea Markets are great, loads of fresh fruit and veg at brilliant prices amoungst other produce such as soaps and wooden items sold in the accompanying store fronts. There are also some great trailer eats, set up in a similar manner to Eat Street and with similar food. The markets seem to have a much more relaxed and friendly atmosphere the earlier you go.
There is also a large green dog/bicycle park not far from our house either, great to take a morning walk through or for an afternoon cycle.
All in all, I would highly recommend Rocklea for anyone with an open mind and a kind heart! Otherwise, good luck fitting in with the rest of Rocklea's friendly and peaceful residents : )
