Renown Park

"Never really felt safe here"

I’ve lived here for almost 2 years now and I’ve never really felt safe in this neighbourhood. Some areas still have lots of government housing, and it’s not uncommon to find needles etc on the footpath in the more secluded areas. There are lots of large sports ovals and parks, which are nice during the day, but I often hear firecrackers and things being set off there during the night. It’s certainly not a suburb I would be comfortable walking around at night without several other people. Petty crime, such as theft, is very common.

Lots of new developments are popping up, which I think will improve the quality of people in the neighbourhood, but they’re only going to add to the traffic problem. There aren’t really any decent supermarkets or shopping centres/cafes nearby either. I generally go to the Churchill Centre to do shopping, which is still a 10-15 drive away, depending on the traffic.

I would advise anyone looking to live here to thoroughly check out the area before putting in an offer to buy/rent. Some areas are fine, but other secluded pockets are anything but.

I'm doing my research before buying a propriety there and I would love to hear from you.

Are you still living there? I have just rented a place there there and saw your review. Wish I saw this before lol. My place is at Stacey place. How is that place any idea?
