Chatswood West

"Nice suburb"

Nice and leafy, walking distance to Chatswood and a really nice bushwalk Ferndale park. I really enjoyed living here and the conveniences to Chatswood. I would prefer it to Chatswood because it is so much more quiet. Fullers Rd always busy.

Lane Cove North

"Nice suburb"

Living in Lane Cove North is nice as it is in walking distance to Lane Cove shops as well as Chatswood. Convenient to everything. There are lots of bushland areas so lots of bushwalks. Recently there has been so much unit development on Mowbray Rd as well as Centennial Ave and it seems to be a trend in this area. At the moment, there are 4 unit developments being built at the same time in this area. This means more traffic to the area and lots of construction noise, traffic diversions. Really nice new library at Mowbray Rd - Chatswood West Library run by Willoughby council. Has so many new, good books and DVD's. Public transport to this area is average. Last bus from Chatswood at 9.15pm; 7 and 6 pm on Saturday and Sunday. Great to get the bus from Centennial Ave/Epping Rd and only 12 minutes into the city.

Great for

  • Great location, close to bush

Not great for

  • Too much high-rise development getting approved

Minto

"Love Minto"

I grew up around Minto and have never had a problem with crime. Have been back over the years and it had changed by looking at the state of the shops and Minto Mall. It is now changing with new streets and new houses where the housing commision were. I can't wait for Minto Mall to be finished because it was sad to see it the way it was. It is such an important part of Minto and has lots of memories for people who grew up in the area. Minto is great because it is only one hour into the city on the East Hills line and you always get a seat. So it is really convenient if you work or study in Parramatta or the city. Some parts of the Campbelltown area are very far from a station. It is also close to the freeway into the city. I think it is good value for money if you buy in Minto because you have all the conveniences of major shops such as Aldi as well as a new Woolworths, Best and Less, Kmart and you have the rail line very close and you can get a new house at a good price for Sydney.

North Epping

"Hidden gem of Sydney"

A very peaceful and safe suburb. Not much traffic; only the locals come here because there is only one main road coming in and out of the suburb. Lot's of birdlife and fresh air surrounded by national park. Very nice to walk through. Bus service needs more runs. Last bus at 9.15pm from Epping station on weekdays and around 6-7pm on weekends. Really good flat bike lane from Epping to North Epping. Nicer than other suburbs I have lived in which includes the lower north shore.

Not great for

  • Walking from Epping station when last bus has gone
