City Beach

"Very expensive"

Nice suburb but no value for money in real estate. There are better suburbs for value like Trigg, Karrinyup, Scarborough and Hillarys.

Great for

  • Beautiful beach

Not great for

  • No nightlife
  • Expensive

Karrinyup

"Nice neighbours.."

Nice suburb for neighbourly spirit, tidy homes, 15 mins drive to CBD, close to beach, close to shopping centre, close to Scarborough for eating out, fairly cheap housing prices comparitively to rest of Perth although small blocks. There is no nightlife or pubs in Karrinyup and the nearest anything is 5km away. We rented in Karrinyup for a year and in that time my car got broken into once and we had to call the ranger around 10 times to encourage people to keep their dogs on a leash to prevent them running into peoples yards.

Great for

  • Near beach
  • 15 mins to CBD
  • Neighbourly spirit

Not great for

  • Dogs not on leads
  • No nightlife or bars

"Too far north"

Perks are that it is not far from the coast but it can be quite windy up on the northern beaches of Perth burbs. For a new suburb it seems to have pretty good infrastructure although it is too far north for me personally.

Great for

  • Near coast
  • Freeway to cbd

Not great for

  • Too far north
  • Limited nightlife

"Ghetto like"

Neighbourly spirit is low due to all the large blocks of flats and a high percentage of immigrants with english as their second language. There are minimal parks and it is too near the city to be considered clean & green. There is a problem with apartment block and street parking and there is a lot of noise from screaming neighbours and late night parties with such a dense population of people living on top of each other. It is the cheapest place to buy a flat within 3km of the city and that is about the only real pro I can think of besides the choices of eating out along the strip. The nearest gym is east on Albany Hwy or in Perth CBD itself.

Great for

  • Close to city
  • Lots of restaurants

Not great for

  • High street traffic
  • Parking issues
  • Blocks of flats and noisy
  • Community Corrections Centre on Albany Hwy

Trigg

"Pretty beach burb"

Trigg is small and tidy with a beautiful coastline running along it. There are several of good primary schools and so many parks and recreation/sporting facilities in such a tiny suburb. The only complaint is that there are lots of dogs and with the blocks being quite small you often must endure dogs barking all day long and often at night.

Great for

  • 15 mins drive to CBD
  • Small suburb
  • Beaches & Parkland

Not great for

  • Dogs barking
  • Limestone substrate

"Great southern suburb"

High on the hillside the suburb overlooks the city skyline and twinkling city lights at night. Some very well maintained properties yet very green and rural feeling.

Trigg

"Trigg Beach Haven.."

Trigg is the best suburb to live in! It is like being in a small coastal village with great beachside cafe's, beautiful beaches a nice neighbourhood.
After living in suburbs like Subiaco, Applecross and Cottesloe I can't think of a better place to be than Trigg.

Great for

  • Beaches & Parkland
  • Cafes

Not great for

  • Limestone substrate
