Eaglehawk

"Best Kept Secret or Neglected Outlier?"

Live here. Shhh...can pick up houses for under $300,000 and units for under $200,00. Eaglehawk is slowly shaking of a reputation based on its lower socio economic status and associated challenges. Still struggling in parts but home buyers in Melbourne have heard of the "Borough" and know that buying in Eaglehawk is potentially a foot in the door for tree changers. Improvements around the local IGA (regarded as a bit of a town centre) and the local shops would be welcome but generally its "good bones but...." status is shifting. "Good bones but...." comment was mentioned by a Bendigo urban planner while addressing an audience at the Bendigo Writers Festival in 2016. This gentleman reminded the audience that efforts were under way to improve recreational and park land areas with grand plans for improvements over the next 15 years or so. Great....but more to do!!!!!
