Derwent Avenue

"Great street in a quiet established neighbourhood with its own little shopping village & great facilities"

This is a great street to live in (as we have for 15 years now). It is a horseshoe shaped street between 2 bays (with 2 yacht clubs, marina and berthing facilities) with a unique shopping precinct known as "the village" due to its laid-back, family atmosphere. The "village" has 2 pharmacies, 3 medical practices, Woolies, 2 bakeries, a patisserie, a plant nursery, hardware, newsagent, Bank, PO, pathology, 2nd hand book store, butchery, dry cleaners, 2nd hand store, hair & beauty x 3, furniture restorer/upholstery, mower & bike repair, Gymnasium, dental practice, Ladies clothes store & haberdashery, CWA store & oven-fired Pizza store - apologies to anyone we,ve forgotten!! It's close to all levels of schooling (a high school at one end, a primary at the other, 2 private schools within 300m, a 2nd high school, a college and TAFE only a couple minutes drive away!) Our son attends Uni and has only a 20 min drive. Buses travel along the street so its easy & quick to get to the city (20 mins in peak hour) or less if you travel to the nearest major shopping centre (Eastlands - Kmart, Big W, Best & Less, Coles,Woolworths and numerous smaller stores). It has parks & hill-top and waterfront walking & bike tracks. We have a bowls club, cricket club, football club and RSL club and thier facilities all within a 5 minutes walk. You can even cycle along the track and throw a line in to fish from the shore. Numerous restaurants & fast-food outlets within a 2-10 min drive depending on your choice. There are some great views to be had & some properties are waterfront. This is a great street in a fantastic suburb to live in- we hope to never leave this area!
