Coomera

"Ghetto"

If I could move out of Coomera as of yesterday, I would. The roughest place I've ever lived. Every day and night l experience the "sights and sounds" of native Coomerans, I.e hoons who are not just in cars, but quad bikes, dirt bikes and motorised deck chairs and motorised eskies (yes really).

The area experiences break ins (granted this IS the Gold Coast) but getting police to the area is very difficult and from my experience, the average call out for assistance has taken an hour. My particular street experiences car accidents from hooning and public displays of domestic disputes.

The two ways to get out of Coomera, Foxwell Road and through Pimpama are chaotic bottlenecks and the single lanes just don't work for an ever-expanding area.

Would not recommend. Unless of course, you like to drive dangerously, or your mode of transport is a deck chair/esky on wheels. You'll likely get away with it around here.

Great for

  • Cheap rent

Not great for

  • Rough
  • Ghetto

Who lives here?

  • Students

It is exactly as described. I frankly would not ever move back to GC. The only decent areas are actually the ones generally out of reach like Sovereign Island or anything that is gated-off. Everywhere else is a ghetto.
