I didn’t enjoy living in morayfield but I did enjoy the relationships with neighbours. I can see how it would be a good place for first home buyers to get into the property market. The homes are older which can add character but I experienced 2 incidences of vandalism and 1 attempted break in during the 2 years I lived here. The neighbours were good though and kept an eye out for others. The streets are busy and I heard fights outside on a few ocasions. The police are responsive and attended very quickly on the occasions I had to call them. The shopping and ammenities in the area are good. It’s not a fancy suburb but it doesn’t pretend to be.. I think if you are starting out it can give you a good foot into the property market. Just take the time to get to know your neighbours and ensure your security is in check. Also my experience of morayfield was in the more suburban region, I have heard that the acreage streets behind the shops don’t have the same troubles with crime.

Mango hill is a great suburb. It’s clean, green, quiet & safe with a choice of public & private schools and 2 train stations. Lots of areas to explore including the lake and trail walks.. we are spoiled for choice in shopping with Bunnings x 2, Ikea, Costco & Westfield all nearby.. great restaurants, Coffee shops & pubs.. the only downside are the big black birds who raid your rubbish bins given half a chance.. property is good.. you get a lot of house for your dollar compared to Brisbane or the coast. Commute via car to Brisbane in peak hour can take 1-1.5 hours but on the weekend it’s 30 minutes. Commute up the coast is 40min - 1 hour.. neighbours are friendly and look out for each other.. diversity is high and I was proud my whole street was on the driveway for ANZAC day.
