Since 2023, the Gosford area has had an influx of mental health patients (estimate 8000) due to the opening of Gosford Hospitals mental health unit.
The Dept of Housing or Homes NSW as its known now has been moving Sydney and Newcastle tenants to areas around Gosford to fill the hospital intake.
You only need to drive, walk or catch public transport anywhere within 25km of Gosford hospital and you will encounter out of control mental health patients every where. Abuse is abundant at every turn, driving is dangerous and forget walking anywhere except at the beach areas. Gosford area is a Psycho city - BEWARE
