"Not recommended"

This place is Scarey. It has a reputation for a reason. It has high rates of violence, domestic & general. High alcoholism, drug abuse, abusive teenagers, vandalism & theft. Just take a drive around & admire the houses with broken windows & fire damage. Even make a leisurely trip to the shops or the library, where after 3 pm you will be subjected to foul mouthed gangs of kids with nothing better to do but shoplift and show disrespect because that's all they've ever known. There are no playgrounds (due to vandalism) and nothing for the kids to do. If you want to feel depressed, afraid and shocked, then move here. Oh, & if you have kids of school age, that's great because they offer part time schooling here!!!
Pros
  • It has a police station
Cons
  • Loads of centrelink customers
  • High welfare uptake
  • Very rough

florc Unfortunately no! There is an area in Bridgewater that is ok. But of course you become paranoid if they wonder around. You never know. Mind you I live in Hobart for the last twenty years and have not set foot in Bridgewater. My husband told me not to.
