Glenwood

"Glenwood is not a Town"

I have lived here for 34 years. Glenwood is not a town - it was originally farm land. Then it was planted mainly with pine and sold off to investors. The investors did not make any money out of this and a lot of them decided they would live here. The reason why Glenwood is so cheap is it has no facilities or services apart from a small supermarket which is grossly overpriced and a service station and produce store. You have to provide your own sewage and water. There are lots of houses for sale as several elderly people have had to move to be closer to medical facilities. Unfortunately when a lot of newcomers move to Glenwood they start demanding services that are not available. If you want medical practices, shops etc - live in town.
In my opinion in the last couple of years too many people are moving here and Glenwood has lost it's peace and quiet.
Too many hoons driving too fast, killing wallabies and other wild life.
Most of the newcomers fence all their block with the result wildlife has nowhere to go. Please if you are going to fence your block, why not leave a metre each side so there is a passage for the wildlife - the blocks out here are big enough.

Who lives here?

  • Families with kids
