"Stunning beaches and great country regions to explore"
We moved to Port Macquarie 2 1/2 years ago and would never go back to Sydney. We moved from Avalon Beach which is a beautiful part of the Northern Beaches but needed a change. We now live on a small acrage 20 minutes outside of town. We have found our haven. People here are extremely friendly, shopping centres are good and I find I never need to leave the area to buy anything. We have boutique wineries in the area, great camping areas, amazing beaches and lots of things for people to do and explore from the very young to the very old. Climate is amazing. My son has been here with his family for 3 years and is a carpenter. He has never been out of work and said there is an abundance of work if you want it. Lots of restaurants to choose from, heaps of stunning, patrolled beaches for the kids and a massive dog beach at Lighthouse Beach.

buying a small acreage : )
Hi Maria! Could you tell me a little about Avalon Beach? I'm between jobs there and in Port Maquarie and was wondering what you though about them. I'm in my mid 20's, would you recommend any?
We are looking into building a small acreage close to PM and would like to find out more about building ... whether it is better to buy a ready built house or whether there are many builders arount PM?
