Airedale Avenue

"A great street"

We were amazed when we moved here - all the neighbours came to say 'hi' and none of them are weirdos. It's a friendly, quiet street that has lovely views of the district and overlooks a park. Five mins walk to Bardwell Park railway station. Loads of trees and green space. Protected national park - cant be built out. Large houses on large blocks. Loads of parking,

Not great for

  • Further to drive into city

Queen Street

"Avoid Queen Street!"

Dirty. Noisy. Large noisy planes overhead all day long. Deafening noise from goods train line 24/7. Think SQUEALING wheels and noise of metal on metal. You will never sleep through the night because of this. The neighbours are either weird or unfriendly or both probably from chronic noise and long term sleep deprivation.

Marrickville

"A dump"

We rented in Marrickville for a year. It was filthy and noisy and we couldn't wait to escape. The streets are dirty. Our neighbours weren't very friendly and we didn't feel it was a safe suburb. The house was expensive to rent but no match for the constant plane noise and deafening train noise from the goods line that runs 24/7. I didn't sleep right through the night more than a couple of times in a year. This suburb is grossly overpriced and hugely overrated.

Earlwood

"A great place to live"

We bought in Earlwood after renting in Marrickville and having lived all over the inner west. Marrickville was dirty, noisy and overpriced. Earlwood is the opposite. Lots of parks, the neighbours are friendly and normal! The houses are big on larger blocks and it is quiet here yet it is five mins walk to the station.

Great for

  • Loads of parks
  • Big houses on big blocks

Not great for

  • Shopping precinct is small
