Ooralea

"Best place to live in Mackay"

I used to live near 4 years in Ooralea and I have a investment property there. As a person who used to live there I should say Ooralea is a unique suberb : Family friendly suberb, clean, safe, lovely neighbors and green. It has childcare centre , university, parks, shops and medical centre.
For investment purpose it’s a good choice too, great access to Paget which is an industrial area, to the highway which geos from the city to the mines and also to the airport. Lots of professionals live there because it’s close to their workplace.
Ooralea is one of safest place in Mackay with no record of flood because of hight.

Glenmore Park

"Sounds good"

Some of cons:

Narrow streets, too curvy!
Too hot in summer, another day was 47 degrees! Penrith area is too hot in summer and sometimes too cold in winter!
Always roadworks around it( to M4)
Bring your car everywhere because if you want to catch a bus to nearest train station that takes 50mins to Penrith.

Pros:
Shopping Center
Shops around
Quiet area

Oran Park

"High density areas, no night life, dry area and far away from everything"

It’s high density suberb. One of my friends made a joke about that, if you run out of shampoo in bath you can grab it from the neighbor’s bathroom! Houses are too close to each one. My husband is an Geotechnical engineer and told,e the newer part of Oran Park has rubbish soil! Almost all houses there(near CamdenVally way) will crack on pavements and walls. BE CAREFUL what you are buying.
It has a small shopping which is going to extend. Still needs lots of work to be a stablished suberb.
