We discovered Corinella in 2025, later than some, earlier than others. It's about 1.5hrs from central Melb - less for us coming from Eastern suburbs, so it's is a pretty easy drive. We aren't quite empty nesters, but were looking for a place close to the beach/ ocean, dog friendly, not too commercialised, and yes more affordable (so as to downsize the mortgage). We found it all in Corinella - and are now easing into exploring it's charms on our 3-4 days here a week. Loving it.
