Blackmans Bay

"Best views in Hobart, spectacular lifestyle, easy commute"

Moved here from inner city Brisbane 12 months ago. This is an incredible place to call home. Lovely quiet, friendly community which is a stone's throw from Hobart (15 min commute). I spent a year looking at suburbs every weekend (rural and inner) within 40 mins of Hobart. This ticks the most boxes for me. You can have the best views of open ocean/Ironpot Lighthouse/the Tasman Peninsula cliffs, down-river to Hobart AND the mountain. Plenty of sun throughout the day (VERY important).Great little beach in summer, local amenities within a 5 min walk (supermarket/bottleo/post office etc.) and major chain stores/pubs and sporting facilities 5 mins drive away in Kingston. Excellent Primary School down the road. Fibre to the premises internet of course. Not much nightlife, but why would you want to live near that? That's what Uber is for. This is a horrendously underrated suburb (in comparison to somewhere like Sandy Bay, where we decided not to purchase). It has all the best aspects of suburban living (i.e. amenities) while feeling like you are on the cusp of nature. Of course, You should aim to stretch and purchase a property which maximises the suburb's best attributes to secure the best long term growth. After significant due diligence, I feel extremely confident recommending this suburb. Note: If you want a 100 year old, fixer-upper 'character home' to empty your wallet into, you will be disappointed. If you want something relatively modern, well built and insulated, You will have options.
