South Golden Beach

"A funky little beach village just north of Byron Bay"

South Golden Beach is situated 15-20mins north of Byron Bay. It's incredibly quiet and laid-back, yet just a stone's throw away from the booming Ocean Shores area.
The village revolves around the beach. Virtually any house in South Golden Beach is within walking distance to the beach. This beach is great for fishing and surfing. Most of the time you will find you have it to yourself, except for the Summer season.
There is also a canal a few blocks back from the beach for kayaking.
There's not much in the way of shopping or dining in this village, just a general store and community hall. Don't let that worry you, because Brunswick Heads is just a few minute's drive away, with the famous Brunswick Hotel and lots of interesting cafes/shopping.
There are no big shopping malls in the region. You will have to travel to Tweed Heads which is approximately 20 mins north, or the Gold Coast - 30 mins.
Public transport is not very frequent or convenient, although this may change with the continuing growth in the region.
