Highett is a great place to live for many reasons, only 14km to the CBD, easy access to all freeways, 5 minutes to Southland, 5 minutes to the beach, a quiet suburb that sits behind all of the expensive and up market suburbs. You have the best of both worlds in Highett, the cost of living and shopping is cheaper in comparison to Hampton and Sandringham, but only 5 minutes away if you want the exclusivity of the more up market shops. It has everything a family needs and or couples and young professionals could or would want. The street i live in is full of friendly families and older couples, we are not far from Nepean highway and honestly the only time i might hear it - is at night when lights are out and in bed and the local fire brigade go out on a call ( which is rare ). Great suburb - nothing to complain about (except that the secret is out) about Highett. Most people use to ask me where it is! and now i don't get asked anymore!
