Ashbury

"Affordable Inner West living with space"

Ashbury is ideal for people wanting the convenience of living near the city but seek some space and a backyard. Property sizes and prices vary from large and expensive to small and affordable.

Ashbury has many heritage houses giving the suburb it's charm and character and it is still possible to buy a "renovators delight" making it popular with first home buyers. There are plenty of parks in the area and a good bus service to the city and train stations. There is one large public school and three high schools also in the area. Corner shops are dotted throughout the suburb and Ashfield centre is only a short drive/bus ride which has all the major supermarkets, library and restaurants. The locals comprise of various ethnic backgrounds as well as a mix of singles, young couples, academics, professionals and young families.

The suburb is currently looking forward to the newly approved Canterbury Town Centre redevelopment along the Cooks River which, in the long term, will bring outdoor cafes, restaurants and retail shops.
