Goodna is a great location with a variety of shops and parks within less than a 10minute drive. It has the train station centrally located making it an easy ride into the city for work. We have been here for 5 years, renovated a dump into our little castle, have great neighbours and not much to complain about. Biggest complaint would be that we live on a busy street... wasn't quite like this 5 years ago - probably time we planted some tall hedges along our front fence. Night life is not that important to us as we little ones but I'm not sure how this would be much different to most suburbs. However on the upside we have never been broken into or had any issues with safety or crime.
