We moved from Sydney (North Shore) 4 years ago and we are now raising 2 kids here on the Central Coast. Cheaper housing allows you to get by on less income. I commute to Sydney for work and my wife stays at home. We love the proximity to the beach, the flat topography for bike riding, community spirit etc.

What it lacks in culture and eating out it gains in natural assets and amenity. We regularly go to Sydney for shows and stay in a hotel in the city, but on the average weekend, being in a smaller community by the sea beats the city any day.
