Moving from Inner West and working in the CBD as a Professional - 32 minutes on fast train is great. Also being in a house with a gorgeous big yard was foreign to us moving from Inner west, now we wake up to the beautiful birds and appreciate and love being surrounded by open space such as parks, rivers, beaches. It creates such a beautiful and peaceful feeling. It is great to walk to shops and station and be so close to beaches, National Park, Wononora River and Miranda Westfield. Every Saturday there is Shire Farmers Markets creates a really nice vibe to the community. The council organise Community events such as Music in Peace Park with a Tapas Bar and they also have a Wine and Beer Tasting Festival in Peace Park every year - it’s fantastic. Great shopping strip with Coles and specialty shops, pubs and cafes. The council announced a Water Park is to built in the Sutherland Leisure Centre. This suburb is evolving. Demographic is quite narrow though, mostly with a white conservative culture. Be prepared to experience or witness some racism.
