"Coastal Enclave with Vibes !!"
Edithvale is a Coastal enclave with vibes... (about to boom)
My partner and I moved to Edithvale a few years ago after living in Elwood/Brighton and Hawthorn East. We’re both professionals, uni-educated, and share a love of the beach, nature, art, travel and food. Edithvale instantly felt like home - it has that relaxed, authentic coastal feel without being a stuffy suburb.
The community vibe is amazing - our street is mostly young families with a few long-term locals, and everyone is genuinely friendly (people literally wait for you when driving down the street). It’s a beautiful, harmonious place to live.
The beach here is crystal clear, easily one of the best stretches in Melbourne.
Shops and cafés are evolving fast with a $3M investment into the village streetscape already underway. We love Soul Press for health foods and matcha iced lattes, and the new infrared sauna and plunge spot has been a great addition. A Pilates studio and premium gelato store are on the way, and IGA covers everyday staples. Woolworths is also under construction just a few hundred metres away - a game-changer for convenience. There are also tennis courts, golf, and plenty of local sport. For dining and nightlife, Mordialloc is only minutes away with restaurants, bars and boutiques, and you can even cycle there along the wetlands track.
Location is a huge plus - easy access to both bayside and the inner east. Express trains get you to South Yarra in around 30 minutes, Southland is just 15 minutes for shopping, and you’ve got seamless access to the Mornington Peninsula for wineries, beaches and water activities.
Edithvale feels like a coastal village with real community spirit. With major investment already flowing in, lifestyle amenities expanding, and bayside property still relatively undervalued compared to Brighton or Elwood, it’s clear this suburb is on the cusp of a boom.
