Kauri Court

"Pleasant family street"

Kauri Court is quite steep providing nice hill views from the higher end. Most houses are set quite close the street with 2000m2 - 4000m2 blocks hidden behind them. The land is not all useable due to the slopes and much of it has been left as native bush. The location means that Kauri Court is never going to flood although run off of rainwater can be very heavy at times. The bush setting provides abundant wild life including wallabies, bandicoots, bush turkeys, kookaburras, parrots (all sorts) and snakes. The latter includes green tree snakes (good!), carpet pythons (OK), whip snakes and the not-so-friendly brown and red belly blacks. Snakes are all around Bonogin so Kauri Court is no better or worse than any other street in that regard. They are attracted to chook pens, aviaries, ponds and wood/rubbish piles so keep that in mind! Kauri Court is generally very quiet although there are a lot of dogs in the area so barking can be annoying. I am not sure how or why but Sundays are usually noise-free with hardly anyone using mowers (etc). Traffic is not a problem given that Kauri Court is a cul-de-sac but the slope of the street means that it is NOT child-friendly Mobile phone reception is good but, at the time of writing, only Telstra provides landline service which also means internet access. TV reception is poor without a satellite dish so just about every house has one.
