"Rural feel without being out 'in the sticks', great for families, safe, quiet and great choice of good schools"
Thagoona is 15 minutes West of Ipswich, in between Walloon and Rosewood. About 40 minutes drive to Brisbane CBD. More an area than a town, no shops but Rosewood and Walloon are very close by. Safe and quiet area, on main rail line to Brisbane and easy access to two Highways, Cunningham and Warrego, with access to West of Ipswich Bypass (Springfield, Logan Motorway and Centenary Highway) via Cunningham Highway at Yamanto.
Great choice of good Public and Private schools nearby. 5 small country Primary Schools with small class numbers close by, closest is Mount Marrow. Bigger state Primary schools in Rosewood and Walloon. Private Schools, St Brigid's Catholic in Rosewood, West Moreton Anglican College (WestMAC)about 5-10 minutes away. Buses to West Mac and Faith Lutheran College, Plainlands. Rosewood also has a State High School. Trains into Ipswich for all the schools there. Kindergarten and childcare centres in Rosewood.
Lower areas have been known to flood and some areas are over old coal mines. This does not affect the newer housing developments or all of the area. If buying in Thagoona, worth paying for a search for any undermining on the property you are looking at.
Lots of GP's around and Ambulance is stationed at Rosewood.
Rosewood Golf Club next to Thagoona. Quiet area, new housing developments have lots of cul-de-sacs, so not much passing traffic. Sides streets off the main street also are quiet. Main road goes from Rosewood to Walloon.
Occassional overhead aircraft noise from Amberley but not a big concern. Much less than Walloon and a lot less than Karrabin.
Best mobile coverage from Telstra Next G. Bitt 'iffy' and very patchy coverage from other networks.
